Have a 2004 Ford Explorer;4.0 v6, Took altenator off got it checked, it's bad. Put back on to get to auto store to pick up new one. Electronic throttle light showed up. Car will turn over. Was not on before taking altinator off. Will putting new altinator make the switch go out? Now have put new Altenator on today and light still on... Can anyone help???
Not sure what that light refers to; the '04s still had a cable-controlled throttle body, not drive-by-wire. Hopefully someone with more knowledge will chime in.
My 2004 Mountaineer V8 has throttle by wire, as does my brother's 2003 Explorer V8. I'm not sure if the V6 did as well. The OP doesn't mention which engine he has.
You might check your Explorer again since your signature file suggests you also have a 2004 V8.
