need help!!!!
my 2001 f250 4x4 just started dinging like the door was open but it is not no lights on dash board and it only stops after 25 - 30times then wont do it again till i restart it
please help

had the same thing happen to my truck a few times after a lot of dusty driving. there usually is that little black plastic "button" about 1/2 in. long that seats when the door is closed. try putting just a touch of lube on that area around the button and see if it works. that always makes mine go away. easy fix if same problem.

Ford doesn't use a push button on their trucks. At least not on the Super Duties.
The door ajar switch is part of the door latch. Is your door ajar light on the console light?
If the problem is the door switch, soak the door latch mechanism with wd-40. I mean soak it down good. Close and open the door a bunch of times then soak it down some more. Do this three or four times and it should loosen up the door switch.
Edit: Sorry, missed no lights on the dash board. It could be a bad indicator light. Does the door light come on when you open the door? And off when you close it? If so, it's not the door switch.
Mine will do what you describe when I don't fully release the parking brake. But the parking brake warning light will be on. Verify the warning light works. If you're sure the parking brake is fully released, the parking brake switch may be bad.

Thank you D Chamberlain for the insight. I have had no luck finding the switches ar anyone to help with locating. I can order the switches from NAPA or AZ but they don't know where they are. Will try the WD and hope for the best. Lar
