Cold start noise, rapping
Ok guys, here's my problem, I hope somebody can help so I don't have to give up my old truck. I have a 99 F250 SD v10 with 176,000 miles on it, past month or so since it's cooled off I have had noise on start up, which sounds like a lifter on an older truck. Am thinking it may be the timing chain slapping, have had some white smoke on start also. I changed the plugs and it dosn't last as long but it's still there. Any ideas? Some hesitation also, not always but once in a while. The plugs where all white and ashy too. I have done a couple oil changes and added seafoam too. There is some ticking that can be heard just while it's running but not loud like on start up for a few seconds...what do I do?
