Hey guys, i have a 2004 f-250 standard box. My buddy the other night backed into the right rear fender right where the flare is and pushed it all in. It doesnt look to pretty at all and she didnt have a dent in her before the incident. I took it to a shop and the estimate was for 1500.00 bucks and they were going to pull and bondo. My question is; is it better to replace the entire panel? If it is only spot welded together can i drill out the panel and weld the new one in? I can do the work myself and have a friend paint it but what is the best route here? I really dont want my buddy spending all his money on her? Any help is appreciated, thanks guys.

My opinion is repair it .. Factory corrosion protection cannot be duplicated if you cut it off ...
Your looking at around $800 just for the panel. Considering where its hit, a good shop can bang most of that out and use a minimal amount of filler. If it were me I would just have them fix it. But I would also shop around a little to. My dad just had his 04 F150 repaired for around $2000, and that was to fix the front fender, front door, and rear fender and paint the whole side of the truck and the rear bumper.
