Cheezit, in an older thread you stated that when flushing with VC-9 that you "flush with vc 9 and then simple green, then straight water with a hose stuffed in the degas bottle for 1/2 hour to get rid of all the chemicals Ive dumped in."
My question is, do you stick the hose in the degas bottle then run the motor or motor off? I assume you also have the lower rad hose disconnected.
wow.... sorry for the late reply. I havent been home that long.
I pull just the drain valve. for this part of it.
also you will do this with the engine runnng. you should be babysitting it as well to make sure the hose dose not pop out of the degas bottle, as well as tring to match the flow in to the flow out.
Cool thanks cheezit, Im going to do that procedure after both the Restore flush and the VC9 flush, then follow with distilled. I have 20 gallons ready to go! Tomorrow is going to be a long day!
Another question, is there torque specs on here somewhere for most of the common things that are removed? Im looking for specifically the air inntake to turbo, cac tubes, fuel pressure regulator cover etc... man I really need to get a service manual!
Oh and no worries about the delay, we all have jobs and lifes outside of this forum..
Interesting comment about "distilled" water - surely people do not use tap water to service coolant and batteries, do they??
Some (most?) Ford dealerships use tap water when replacing coolant. I learned this first-hand. Too much hassle/expense to stock distilled water, apparently.

I would also assume that the t-stat is out or you will never get good flow.

Scan tool used to bump the rpm is a good way as well as making sure the engine stays at temp by monitering ect. and yes if I was doing it in my driveway then yes I would pull them
and no Ive never worked at a shop that had bottled water.
