Yeah, I noticed its got 4.88s. I didnt see anywhere that its rated for less power though, but Ill take your word for it.
What do you think is a good price?
I did last week, I forget what it was, plus I have to just punch in a random zip code as kbb only works for the u.s. I think it was right around the $39/40k mark.

I think that would be what you would expect to pay on the high end at a dealer.
I think US dollars wise I would be willing to shell out low 30's.
I don't mean to steal the thread, but I am looking at an '08 F250 with 6.4L diesel as well. I had them give me an Oasis report on the truck and I'm torn about whether or not I should even give it a second thought. The truck appears to be in very good condition interior and exterior, I am just a little concerned about the engine issues with the 6.4. The engine was replaced at 45K due to too much oil and bending rods. What are your guys thoughts?
Hmm, I dont know what Id do, a new engine is nice, but the problems would make me want to look elsewhere.
As for my situation, I emailed the salesman about it, mentioned a bit more off the selling price..havent heard anything back. Ive moved on anyways, the 450 is too much truck for my needs/wants. Im now looking at a late build 2008 f350 dually, lariat, with 45,xxx km on it. Got price to 40k even so far.
I picked up my 08 Lariat 4x2 F350 DRW with 45k miles a year ago for $33k US.
Sam
So considering this has about 28,000miles (45,000km), is a 4x4 and in Canada, I think $40k is pretty close to a fair price. Of course Ill try and get a bit more knocked off.

Degas looks good, clean pipes. So I think I would go a step further and drive it.
Yup, and its not black! Of course black is my fav but I have a black Corvette and Id like to never own black again
Now, tell me this...do you see any brown in that gray truck?

I'd rarely recommend that Here's the official 08 brochure
The info is located on page 4 (repeated on page 15) which deals with the 2008 6.4 and its power output of 350/650. In the footnotes it says that the engine is 325/600 when the F450 is equipped with a manual transmission OR the 4.88 rear end regardless of transmission. Therefore, per Ford, it was in standard tune for those of us with the 2008 F450 w/4.30s and torqshift.
This does NOT seem to be true of the 2010s. The 2010 Ford literature confirms the engine IS detuned throughout the F450 range.
I don't want to help on pricing as I don't like to give bad advice and the CDN currency and market has me lost. That said, use the above info to your advantage.
Btw, do I ever hear you on the "once you've had black you'll never go black!!"
