Turbo lag

Can the turbo on a 6.0 be turned up some how. I have an early 03 that had the really cool and loud whistling turbo. Seemed like it had lots of power. Since it has been replaced with the newer 2004 and up version it doesnt seem to have the same power and i have noticed longer turbo lag. smash the pedal to the floor and you go really slow till the rpms rise, then it goes really fast. Any way arount that. Thanks

If this helps i do have a banks 6 gun tuner and speed loader. It still has the lag even with the tuner on.

My SCT really reduces the lag a lot!
