no start after sitting

i have a 95 f350 psd and 2 weeks ago it was running but it ran rough. it would idle fine but when taking off it would spitt and sputter and would do it occasionaly crusing down the road. well my tranny needed to be overhauled so i puilled the trans and had it rebuilt. it sat in the drive for about 2 weeks and now it wont start. its at the dealer now they said it needed a fuel pump and they werent sure if thats what the only problem is. they also got me for 2 batteries and a starter. i bought the parts though and had them put them in (saved over $100!) just wondering if you guys had any thoughts?
thanks

could be the fuel pump, take a tire gauge and check the pressure and find out where it's at. Should be at least 40-45 minimum

If your problem is the truck falling on it's face when you mash the skinny pedal, check fuel pressure under load. If the problem is random rough running at various times, check the UVCH connectors.

Assuming of course your engine oil is full and the oil, fuel filter and air filter are not overdue for a change.

Is it at the Ford dealer?
Ask questions such as ...

1. What is the ICP pressure during cranking.
2. What is the IPR % duty cycle during cranking.
3. What is the RPM during cranking.
4. What is the fuel pressure during cranking.

Do you have a wait to start light?

ok i just got it back from the dealer......it runs....but it still sputters while revving high and if im crusing down the road at 1100 rpm it will miss pretty good .....if i rev it in park it dont wanna go over 2500 rpm and it sputters bad and blue smoke comes out the tailpipe......as for those questions i got the truck before i saw the post.....but the dealer did say it needs glow plugs...they tested between 6-8 ohms......any thoughts as to why it runs like this?....fuel pump was just replaced

Has it had any injector work done? At 281k, if not you probably have some issues there.

yea the dealer said it could use injectors but i dont have the $$ for those....they said that you also have to replace the valvecover gasket/wiring harness to and thats alot of money i dont have....on top of it all it also needs glowplugs so im lookin at over $1000 there......i gotta save a while for that on my $300 bi weekly paycheck lol

You don't have to replace the vc gaskets and harnesses unless there are some burnt pins in there.
