i have a 95 f350 psd and 2 weeks ago it was running but it ran rough. it would idle fine but when taking off it would spitt and sputter and would do it occasionaly crusing down the road. well my tranny needed to be overhauled so i puilled the trans and had it rebuilt. it sat in the drive for about 2 weeks and now it wont start. its at the dealer now they said it needed a fuel pump and they werent sure if thats what the only problem is. they also got me for 2 batteries and a starter. i bought the parts though and had them put them in (saved over $100!) just wondering if you guys had any thoughts?
thanks
If your problem is the truck falling on it's face when you mash the skinny pedal, check fuel pressure under load. If the problem is random rough running at various times, check the UVCH connectors.
Assuming of course your engine oil is full and the oil, fuel filter and air filter are not overdue for a change.
all filters are good and when i tested the fuel pump i think it was putting out 50psi. but its at the dealer now and they said that it was bad so i had to replace it....i havn't heard anything yet as to if the fuel pump fixed the no start or not from the dealer
yea thanks i didnt want to bring it there but i need it fixed without replaceing alot of unneccessary parts, so far im up to $450 just in labor for replacing 2 batteries and a starter (which i could have done but...) and the fuel pump. hopefully ill hear from them today and see if the fuel pump fixed it
Is it at the Ford dealer?

ok i just got it back from the dealer......it runs....but it still sputters while revving high and if im crusing down the road at 1100 rpm it will miss pretty good .....if i rev it in park it dont wanna go over 2500 rpm and it sputters bad and blue smoke comes out the tailpipe......as for those questions i got the truck before i saw the post.....but the dealer did say it needs glow plugs...they tested between 6-8 ohms......any thoughts as to why it runs like this?....fuel pump was just replaced
yea the dealer said it could use injectors but i dont have the $$ for those....they said that you also have to replace the valvecover gasket/wiring harness to and thats alot of money i dont have....on top of it all it also needs glowplugs so im lookin at over $1000 there......i gotta save a while for that on my $300 bi weekly paycheck lol
