inter cooler problems

I need help I have blown 2 inetrcoolers on my 04, 6.0 F350 4x4 in the last month and a half. Both on vactions. I still have warranty but need to know why they are blowing thanks

I would check for codes and see if that leads you in a direction. My suspicion is that you're over-boosting (caused by stuck vanes in the turbo). If that's the case, you're lucky that you haven't lifted the heads yet.

Wasn't sure about that. It explains why he would not know of an overboost situation without pulling the codes.

All the work is being done by the dealer which isn't helping much, no boost gauge but looking at putting one in. ford not much interested in fixing the real problem. they cleared the codes but i couldn't get what they were. still have warranty but afraid to tow. it only happens when towing trailer and both times were on uphill grade
