My 2002 F350 needs new Sway Bar Links as the front end is making a popping noise now and then. A local shop wanted $350.00 to do the job. After looking at the repair myself it looks straight forward (2) connections on each link. I think I can handle the repair myself. Autozone wants $69.00 for each link, lifetime warranty. What do you guys think?
You will need to take the arms to a shop to press out the old ones. A 20 ton press will do. I paid $20 for all four bushing to be pressed out. You can press the new ones in with a bench vise.

Speaking of which... CLAY!!! What would i need to measure to make sure I get the right ones? I have tried this a couple of times to get Energy Suspension from AutoZone and they missed both times. I did measure the sway bar and it was at 1 1/8.

Clay has an early 99 set. You may want to clarify the differences with him but he should know.
Clay's got the kit and the grease zerk option seems like a plus, good going posting the link Chris. Unless your end links are damaged, been hit and bent exct. just get the bushings, why spend extra money on whole links. Just felt like adding that.
I did the Energy Suspension Bushing this weekend. I twisted one of the Lower bolts off putting them back on. Ordered a new bolt from Dealer and it is 1/2 " too short.
3" vs 3 1/2 " It is a shouldered bolt, so not available anywhere. I have a regular 3/8" bolt.
Will that be OK? Jim
I think the only solution is to order the bushing kit from Clay and have a shop press out the old bushings and press in the new bushings. Both sway bars are in great shape.

Now thats the way you do it Maybe Clay could chime in but I'm wondering where those grease zerks go, tap into the large side washers or thru the endlink itself, hum..
