How to Decode
I bought a 1968 F100 Ranger with F10YNC which I have got to F100, Y- 390, N= Norfolk, VA but the door tag I cannot find any info on. Where is a good place to find a door decoder? I know for my Mustang I had no issues finding one. Anyone help?

As you can see, I made a few corrections.
F10 = F100 2WD
Y = 360 2V / H is the VIN engine code for a 390 2V (see below).
N = Norfolk VA Assembly Plant.
C = 1968 / 1968 serial number range: C00,001 thru D82,000.
115" Wheelbase.
A = Raven Black.
F100 2WD, 5,000 lbs. GVWR
N81: N = Dark Red Crinkle Vinyl & Red Granada Pattern Vinyl // 81 = 81B Custom Cab.
C = Ford type 3.03 3 Speed Manual all Syncromesh Transmission.
17 = Ford 9" Rear Axle / 3.25-1 / non Limited Slip / 3300 lb. Rear Axle Capacity.
5,000 lbs. Gross Vehicle Weight Rating.
172 net HP @ 3800 RPM
25 = Richmond VA Ford District Sales Office, where the original selling dealer ordered the truck from.
inre to VIN engine codes H & Y: H = 1968/76 F100/350 390 2V / Y = 1966/67 F100/350 352 2V / Y = 1968/76 F100/350 360 2V
If you got this Y-390 jazz off the FTE VIN decoder, be aware that the FTE VIN decoders aren't worth two cents, have all sorts of errors and omissions.
Since 11/2006, I've decoded over 700 VIN's and Rating/Warranty Plate & Certification Label codes for FTE members using the apropos Ford parts catalogs.
