So as the name states I have a '79 four door bronco and after recently being stomped in the dirt by a rice rocket I want a change, I wanna somke all! I figured a powerstroke would do it. What are some pros and cons of each im at a 6.0, 7.3 or mabye even a cummins 5.9 dont go disses on the 5.9 my father stomped a new camarro with his. Back to what im asking 7.3, 6.0, 5.9 rice eater. I'm putting 79 hp D60 in the front and a 14 bolt in the rear so i will have the weight of the engines covered. Name some pros and cons with them please. After a problem with my 351 the guy said it would be better off getting a new engine instead of repaing it so im open I want a deisle dont ask about tranny,T case or axles. Thanks Hunter.
I am having a hard time following this.. but I would venture to say you are asking what would be ideal to go with for a transplant in swapping to a diesel? For what you are looking to do, and assuming you have a good foundation of knowledge in this type of work, the Cummins would be ideal. Have fun!
The easiest cummins to swap would be all mechanical, no computers or sensors to deal with. You can still get plenty of power with a few inexpensive mods.
Intercooled or not depends on how much room you have and the power you plan on cranking out the engine.
