1995 explorer humming

1995 explorer humming
1995 exp xlt 106800 on it. When runs in P or stop in D there is humming noise that you can hear from the inside of the vehicle. What could be wrong?

Does it sound like a buzzing noise? Hopefully it is just a loose heat shield on the exhaust.

Does it sound like someone blowing over a bottle?
Does it seem to come from your air intake region of the engine
It is most likely your IAC valve. This is a common problem with explorers. If you do a search on IAC valve problems you will understand.
Mine has been humming for about two years now. I have had no other driveability problems but everyone says sooner or later I will start running rough

actually the noise comes from the middle/rear of the vehicle. It is like someone is blowing over a bottle. It just driving me crazy. Heeeelp

I have a 96 that hums it is the gas cap it seems to stick when it's venting the gas tank it sounds weird but if I loosin the cap you can hear a rush of air going into the tank,maybee the cap is off a hummer???

I think it hums because it doesn't know the words.
