screams from a truck

I'v got a 78, single cab, F150 with a 302, 2wd, and if I sit in park or neutral and rev it up (cant tell how high, it doesn't have the "guage") it will make a loud screaming, almost screeching noise. Any suggestions?

Sounds like fan/accessory belts to me. Tighten or replace.

if I switch to a 460 i will have to replace the engine mounts right?

Yes you will have to change your engine mounts and your bellhousing (if you have a C-6 you will have to get a different tranny.)

hey, wierd news. I was using it the other day to pick up limbs (Pruning time!) and while i was sitting there adjusting the radio i reved it up and it didnt screech! thanks for the help thoe!
