I have heard forever that Racor makes the Motorcraft Filters for the 6.0L. I just took it for fact. Well, after being questioned about it on another forum (the person claimed that Fram made them), I finally got curious about this information - is it urban legend or fact?
Here is the brief but to the point response from Racor after asking them the question:
Yes the Motorcraft filter is a Racor also.

I know some folks did not quite want to save the $$'s on Racor filters because of some doubt that they were the right ones. Hopefully this helps a little.
The FRAM I bought is actually a rebranded (repackaged) Racor.
Nope, it's not. Fram will tell you it's not. Fram purchased the rights to some of the specifications, size being one, of the Racor filter, but they use their own filter media. Call Fram and see what they tell you if you don't believe me.

Tim, I,ve got a few with all the patent numbers and made in Germany. The original mfg. plant. Have had them for 5 or 6 years now since I bought enough at 2 for 7 for my lifetime.
