i have a 2007 F150 supercrew 2W drive. when you get on the brakes it makes a noise like a slight rubbing or chirping. its not a continous noise but like its rubbing in one spot as the wheel turns. i had the rotors turned and new brakes installed and it started a few weeks after that. i've pulled the wheels and looked at the rotors and no sign of anything scratching or rubbing. i tried putting some pressure on the brakes and turning the wheels with them off the ground but can't get them to do it that way. it's been doing it for over a month and doesn't get any worse or better.
How many miles are on the truck and have you ever had brake work done before?
I have heard of people having problems with the OEM rotors if they have them turned more then once or even after the first time having work done. Apparently some of the rotors warp just a bit and cause problems after the first time of changing pads or other brake work.
the truck has 50,000 miles on it. i had the rotors turned and new pads installed at around 45,000 miles. the noise started about two or three weeks after the brake job.
I am having a similar problem with my 2005 4WD SuperCrew.
Mine is a chirping noise that is intermittent and seems like it happens more when I turn left. Mine is coming from the front right wheel. I am also getting a squeal when I brake but that is also intermittent. I have 58k on the originals and the dealer checked and said they are about due. I'm sure they are and hoping once I change the pads this will fix all noises. I am considering doing this myself but need some instructions. Ford wants $201 for both axles, seems a little pricey...
