Please help a soldier in need!!!
Serving our country as a Marine sniper, Cpl. Aaron Howell sustained severe injuries, including the loss of both legs, while on patrol in Afghanistan in April 2010. He has since completed surgeries in Germany and Bethesda Naval Hospital and looks forward to returning to his home in Parishville, NY. Encouraged by recent progress, Aaron remains determined to resume his life’s passions including hunting and fishing in the Adirondacks.
To help secure Cpl. Howell’s goal, we are raffling a new Bravo Company USA AR-15 rifle graciously donated by BCM (a $1,260 value). In fact, Bravo Company has also donated a second rifle that will be presented to Cpl. Howell on Veteran’s Day! Raffle entries cost $10.00 each or 6 for $50.00. Watertown Daily Times | Local Marine severely wounded
UNDERSTAND! I look very carefully at anything like this, especially since an online scam was played on several of our military people here not long ago. So it isn't that I'm out to rain on anybodies parade or anything like that.
We "TRUST - but VERIFY"
1BMF: have you been in touch with the New York Chapter of FTE on this?

I challange ya to match it!
This is one of our own and can use all the help he can get....
)~Additionally; I do not at this point know what the position of IBI, and the Moderators and Admins of FTE and so on may be as regards openly soliciting a fundraiser of this kind (even though it's non-profit) but it's being looked at.
I HAVE posted a thread concerning Corporal Howell in THE NEW YORK CHAPTER of FTE, where I think all aspects of it can best be looked at. If we have any "BIG APPLE" people from around Watertown, maybe we can get a birds eye view of what is happening and what we might be able to do on a personal basis. I'd feel a lot better with a bit more independant confirmation - for one thing, if a bunch of us go off the deep end with the raffle, we ought to at least try to have someone at the drawing.
Any input on that is welcome, as far as that goes if we have anyone in or around Schenectady NY that could drop in at Target Sports - that would be more than enough confirmation to satisfy me personally.
Like I said - I'm very skeptical about anything involving money online, as well anyone should be. But if it's for real and we can check it out, then by all means "All Ahead Full"
I'm just trying to look out for everybody and keep us all out of trouble here
