Need advice on cat back exhaust on gas 04 Excursion

Who actually offers a bolt on for 5.4 gas 4X4 XLT?

I've looked through sites and only find expeditions or other fords.

Thanks,

Chuck

Here is one I found, not sure why you are having trouble finding an exhaust, I found a bunch of different ones for the 5.4

2000-2005 Ford Excursion Exhaust System - Exhaust - Gibson 00-05 Excursion Exhaust System - 5244-03013710 - PartsGeek

P.S. There is a excursion section on this site which would probably be more helpful.

Any decent exhaust shop should be able to hook you up with a free flow muffler and tailpipe(s) for less than the $400-700 a bolt on system will cost you. If you live in the rust belt it would even be worth paying more to remove the old parts.

I just cut my muffler out and straight piped and put echo tip on. Sounds good too! 2003 Expedition 5.4.

That would probably be a bit much for me. I really like my magnaflow muffler though.

I agree with "Big Greenie", I had straight pipes at one point and they were way to loud for me, I know have a Dynomax cat back, muffler is a flow through. It sounds really good, quiet under cruising and loud when I open it up.

So, you recommend the Gibson? I like the price!

I was wondering what it might sound like. I don't want it really loud, but I enjoy a deep mellow sound like a Borla. I also want it to exit behind the rear wheel.

Does Dynomax have one that bolts up to an Excursion 5.4?

Thanks for your help.

Chuck
