flashing od light

have a 1999 f150 4x4 5.4l with the 4R100 tranny. had it rebuilt in june. the o/d light will start flashing after awhile of driving it. took it back to the tranny shop 3 times so far and they have adjusted it the first time, changed the solenoid pack the second time and last time replaced the converter. the light still would flash after driving it. biggest difference when not flashing and flashing is that it would downshift hard into first when coming to a stop. seems normal upshifting and converter locks and unlocks as normal, just hard downshift. i changed the speed sensor on side of tranny after reading some posts. still flashed so i hooked up my code reader to vehicle. didn't read any codes (might not be capable of reading tranny codes) so i hit the code eraase button anyways. the syptoms went away for about 3 weeks. ligh started flashing again and doing the same downshift problem. so i put the code reader on it and hit erase again. flashing and downshift went away again.

anyone have any idea what this could be? is it in the tranny or computer maybe. has me perplexed.
