Saskatoon Guys

Hey Everyone, Long time no talk

Would it be possible for one of you gentlemen in your journeys to swing by and take a look at this truck for me
Used 2000 FORD F-250 for Sale In SASKATOON, SK - 2324467 - autoTRADER.ca

I am in the market for a Ford Truck again and really want a 99-03 250 or 350 with the 7.3.

This one looks decent and a decent price too, I would greatly appreciate it!

Thanks
John

Since it seems I`m almost the only one left from around here I`ll try but I`m swamped at work. I see it`s still for sale, maybe tonite I can find time to have a look and take it for a road test.

It looks nice and the price is decent. I like to get it. I like the 8ft boxes. Don't worry I'm not in a position to go for it. I also like Morris. Lots on my plate this weekend and I won't be able to look at it either Sorry.
Next week I maybe able to. Plan to go Princess Auto shopping next week.

Thanks Guys, I know its a busy time of year! I know I am swamped here too.

Long box is sometimes nice to have, and it sets it apart from others.

If you get a chance let me know

I too prefer a long box. How do you haul a 4x8 sheet of plywood in a truck box that is only 4 1/2 ft long. That is what a lot of these new trucks have. Their not even the true 6ft short boxes anymore.
5ft or 5.5 ft 4.5 ft even the sportstrac is 4 ft.
These lengths you might as well cut a roof off a SUV get the same results.

Well in defense of the sport trac it was designed more for passenger comfort than cargo space. It shares the same wheelbase as the Ranger supercab so the box is smaller when was made into a crewcab. It is small it is surprising how much you can stuff in there. I've hauled a complete 302 engine, 1973 Ford Ranchero hood, 5'x5'x2' tv center, 6'x3'x16" bookshelf. I've fit 2 fullsize dressers, complete double bed with frame and a computer chair in the same load. It could even theoretically fit 280 2L bottles of pepsi under the factory tonneau cover...

I got the old 51 for the longbox when I need the real work done.

The Sport Trac has a decent amount of hauling for it`s size and I do like the ride.
What`s the towing capacity like?

I like the look of the sportstrac. But for real hauling work loads I do not see it hauling 10 ft 2x4 or full sheets of plywood.
It is a good truck for the city people for picking up the new washing machine they bought.
The sportstrac has decent rating for towing. It depends what you plan to tow. They have good V6 engines and I think V8's for towing camper trailers.

Although I can see where a long box is nicer for some things cause you can always fit a little longer of something in there, you can haul 4x8 sheets of plywood, or 2x4's (ive hauled many a 16 foot 2x4 yes it sticks out!) with a shortbox!

The downfall is you have to strap everything down, where a longbox you wouldnt have too.

Id also take a shortbox something, over getting material delivered!

John, if I had more time I would check the truck out for ya, ill see what i can do on the nights i dont have class. I keep trying to get as many bike rides as I can in this year so that eats up alot of time!

I actually don't like my 01 F250 for hauling. I bought a load of junk at a auction sale and it sagged more then I thought and handled poorly with the weight. When I got home I unloaded into my 63 halfton and it held it better. If I bought a newer truck defiantly be a 1ton

If needed I suppose I could take a quick peak at it for you. Usually not the best opinion on newwer trucks I used to looking at rubble piles so everything looks good to me. Lemme know if you're still looking for someone to take a quick look

I am a bit surprised at that, the suspension on my 00 diesel held good under load and I had 400lbs of scrapper blades in the back all the time. It always handled good loaded or empty, anyways there must be some difference.

Weak springs, he may need spring assists to help push the springs up.

I do see alot of F250 have added airbags suspension, I'll have to do some thinking but if I think I'm gonna keep it for a long while may have to add some of those airbags
