I don't think I ever posted this story so I will now. My sig describes my truck yes, but the only reason I have my truck is because I couldn't inherit my grandfather's truck. I'll explain after the pic.
This was my granddad's truck. 1978 F100 Ranger. V8 motor (don't know which one), Auto Tranny.
I don't care for autos, but if I could've gotten this truck I'd have been happy with it. Not much of a looker, but my granddaddy has Parkinson's and Leukemia, can't do much more than hold a good conversation. I hunt with his shotgun cause I never got to hunt with him, and it would've been an honor to keep his truck in the family.
My uncle and I used it to haul his boat to and from the boat ramp, towed it like it wasn't even there. But one day, my uncle took it fishing and while the truck was parked on the ramp the drive shaft snapped in two (at least I was told this) and the truck rolled into the water and sunk. Sat for 8 hours completely submerged. It would've cost me a LOT to restore that truck to anywhere near road worthy, but to this day, I wish I had told grandma to just hold on to it for me. RIP
I used to walk around saying it was a 73, but grandma showed me the title and it said 78 if I remember right.
It sat in the yard a little while, so I looked it over. I still wish I had stood firm and told grandma to just hold it for me. You find these trucks randomly at the yard out here so I could've pieced it back together then painted it. She ended up giving it to a scrapper.
I only spent $300 for my truck, so I can't complain much, but I do wish the Ranger was one project I was able to start.

It is a shame it got scrapped my grandma sold my grandpa's car after he died a 69 Lincoln Continental Town car 4 door. She sold it an the guy a friend of the family took it ot the crusher an got $650 out of it. It only needed a carb an a good cleaning. I was young an dumb then an still kick myself over letting that car go an not standing firm an took it. It was bought in the family an stayed in the family till it got sold.
