I took it into the shop this morning. Waiting on the call to hear what's going on with it. I wasn't OVERLY confident in his confidence to work on an old truck. But I got this feeling from a few of the mechanics when I asked if they were cool with working on an old truck, the answer was always: it shouldn't be a problem. Hmmm. I want to hear: I own an F100 myself, or I grew up working on old trucks...etc. So, I'm hoping that this guy doesn't try to burn me cause I'm a chick.
Will let you all know what he says and the estimate...
$200 for new carb including labour does sound like a good price. I think I'll just wait with mine its not a DD anyways. It works fine once its warmed up.
edit* I have used Carb cleaner on my truck. I didn't notice a big difference. Maybe I'll get out there again and use the rest of the can.
