The plastic piece that goes across the tailgate on the platinum, I am having issues with it not wanting to stay on, it looks like htey just double sided taped it, and it has popped off a bit.
I have not looked at any others to see if they have this problem, so, anyone else here have this issue? anything to do to fix it other than pull it off and retape it?
Its a common problem. The dealer will tape it back on. Sometimes they blame a warped appliqué and will replace it.
Personally I believe the actual truck realizes the appliqué is so ugly, its just trying to shed it. However I understand that my subjective opinion and some folks actually like the Platinum's tailgate.

Yeah I agree its gawdy, but some say the same about the bed decal for the different trims. I like the decal on mine, and If I liked the Platnium (which I dont but thats my opinion) I would want it looking brand new, even the tailgate
I actually like the platinum, and the tailgate, just wish the truck where a 4x4...I will take it by the dealership and see if they will fix. Along with the driver door not being aligned with the front fender....

the bed decal was the first thing i took off. It's weird, my dad always ordered his vehicles with no decals and i guess it just stuck with me. I think it looks better clean tho, but that's just me.

Everyone has different tastes. I'm not a decal person either. Fortunately for those that don't like the decals, at least there is no hole to fill when they're removed.
Just gotta remove them while the truck is fairly new to avoid and ghosting left behind on the paint.
