The argument that a misdemeanor defendant is entitled to bail does not apply here. She was remanded for failing to meet the conditions of her probation.
She failed the drug test. She posted on Twitter;

Beyond sticking her neck in her own legal noose on Twitter, US Weekly Magazine reports Lohan was drinking and laughing as she tweeted the messages above and she had held.

I doubt that she's any bigger a spoiled dimwit than Paris or many other celebs.
It's just that now, you can't get away from their stupid activities. Miners 500 feet below the earth know this stuff. Why it keeps getting reported, I don't know.
Nor does it hurt their careers. Whoever has Lohanunder contract right now said that they will deal with it.
I hate to harken back to my prehistoric youth, but in those days, it was relegated to gossip media. You could choose to know about it -- OR -- you could not read the gossip stuff and go on about your life. News was limited to things that somewhat mattered.
I still admire the reporter who, in a previous deal, said on the air "This is not news, I'm not reading it". Hopefully he still has a job.
