Ok guys, im having some trouble. I have an 03 powerstroke 6.0, and for some reason it runs really rough. I replaced my ICP sensor and wiring harness then updated my computer and that didn't fix it. I took it to a shop and they told me my #1 and #7 injectors were bad, so i replaced them. no change. When it idles, it acts like it misses, and when you drive it down the road it shakes and misses for about 20 minutes, then it stops. Im not sure what else to do. I stretched my fuel regualtor spring to try and get more pressure but that didn't work either.
I had a miss in my 350 a few years back, took it to the dealer(last dealer visit) 2200 bucks later I still had a miss.Dealer was getting injector codes but once replaced with new injectors the code came back.So I replaced 8 injectors with aftermarket and low and behold I still got a GD miss.I posted here about my trouble and either Blackhat or Bow Tie Hater Told me it was the HPO rail check valve, so I swap them out and the miss is gone never to return.
Thanks man. sure hope that does the trick. how much does that check valve run? And how hard is it to change? Is there one on each side of the engine or just one for both sids?
One on each oil rail I think they were about 60 bucks each.It isn't a difficult job if you have been under the valve covers before. Page 40: Fuel Management System
Ok Thanks. Yeah, I have had the valve covers off before when i changed my injectors, but I never thought about it being in my HPO system. I sure hope this does the trick. I'll be sure to let you know how it does.
OK so I called my local ford dealer today and told them that I needed a high pressure oil rail check valve and they couldn't figure out what I was talking about. I had to go to them with the picture and show them and the said it was called an oil fitting on their computer. It was $65+tax. It will be in tomorow morning, so tomorow afternoon I will pull it apart and change it out. Hopefully this will fix my missing problem. I'll be sure to keep you posted.
