Door seal retainers
Working on a '60 F100, originally there were weatherstrip retainers along the bottom of the doors. Are they needed? Or will weatherstrip ahesive hold the new door seals in place just fine. The originals are toast or should I say non existent, I Love NY! I have about a one foot piece of one. I haven't found any replacements but didn't know if I needed to. I was thinking that bending up some new ones would be that hard a job. Can anyone shed any lite on this?!?

You can purchase them, midfifty sells them for the 53-56, I'm sure they are similar to what you need. I would say that it would be a good idea to have them as they were there for a reason, but with that said the addesives today are likely much better today than what they were back then. It might be closer for you the buy them from LMC
