I bought a new Scan Gauge II and love it. I would suggest reading the reviews and threads on this forum as there are quite a few of us that own them. As well as codes there are many gauges so you can keep an eye on things while driving. I bought mine for 159.00 with free shipping.

Awesome, I'm reading reviews now. Can you delete codes with it as well?

YES
Pressing the CLEAR button will result in a prompt from the
ScanGaugeII to verify that you want to clear the trouble code(s) and turn off the “Check Engine” lamp.
I have the Edge Insight. It will monitor Oil Temp;Coolant Temp;Boost; Volts & EGT with optional probe. It does not monitor Fuel Pressure you would need another gauge for that. I don't think they make it anymore. It was replaced with the Insight CTS & CS You can check them out.. Edge Products| The Leaders in Performance Electronics
Hopefully someone with the CTS or CS will jump in and give you more info!!!
Well I knew it measures 12 things,
I had heard that people were using them for EOT vs ECT. But on website it list coolant as one of 12 functions and oil temp is not. That is why I was wondering.
Copy and pasted off of website.
<table border="0" cellpadding="5" cellspacing="0" width="100%"><tbody><tr> <td class="hdl14_gray" valign="top">Fuel Economy </td> </tr> <tr> <td class="hdl14_gray" valign="top"> Fuel Rate </td> </tr> <tr> <td class="hdl14_gray" valign="top">Battery Voltage </td> </tr> <tr> <td class="hdl14_gray" valign="top">Coolant Temperature </td> </tr> <tr> <td class="hdl14_gray" valign="top">Intake Air Temperature </td> </tr> <tr> <td class="hdl14_gray" valign="top">Engine Speed (RPM) </td> </tr> <tr> <td class="hdl14_gray" valign="top">Vehicle speed (MPH and KM/H) </td> </tr> <tr> <td class="hdl14_gray" valign="top">Manifold Pressure
(not available on some vehicles)</td> </tr> <tr> <td class="hdl14_gray" valign="top">Engine Load </td> </tr> <tr> <td class="hdl14_gray" valign="top">Throttle Position </td> </tr> <tr> <td class="hdl14_gray" valign="top">Ignition Timing </td> </tr> <tr> <td class="hdl14_gray" valign="top">Open/Closed Loop </td></tr></tbody></table>
on Scanguages web site look at the x gauge that it supports. You can program up to 25 additional gauges. They have a vehicle specific data sheet that you can use to program the gauges. EOT is one of them.
Is that right? are you looking for a spread and if so what's an acceptable spread?
What would a spread out of tolerance indicate?
That is correct. Yes, keeping an eye on temperature spread of no more than 15 degrees difference between the two. Exceeding that spread more than likely indicates a plugged oil cooler, which could lead to egr cooler problems.
Yes, that is my main 2 things to watch. I really watch it while I'm pulling my RV. Would like to get additional gauges for fuel pressure, oil pressure, and EGT's. Those will be next.
From what I have read, here, the 15 degree spread is based a lot on highway speeds unloaded. I have seen 15 degrees spread during my pulling the trailer, but it fluctuates when I crest the hills, and am less concerned as I've learned my motor temps.
