I have a 91 navajo and when i give it about a 1/4 throttle or more it spits and sputters. It spits and sputters if I let the clutch out to quickly or when taking off from a hill. Checked for codes and nothing came up. I started throwing parts at "sensors" and nothing changed. UGH
When is the last time this Navajo had a tune up consisting of at least spark plugs, plug wires, fuel filter, and a check of the air filter? Have you checked the fuel pressure? Before throwing parts at sensors you really should consider the standard maintenance items and ideally checking the datastream of the sensors to see what they are telling you/the ECU.
I do regular tune ups on it and it has not changed the way it runs. It is about due for plugs and wires though. Changed the fuel filter last spring, about 8,000 mi ago. Air filter is good just checked it when I changed the oil last week. My mpg is 17.5 to 19 every tank. It started acting up shortly after I bought it 2.5 yrs ago. After reading some of the threads I'm thinking it has something to do with fuel pressure it make sense. Going to check it this weekend. As well as sensors, that will be fun to learn "the datastream"
Thank you for your reply Rob!! Joe
