I found in FedLog today that Ford still makes the C1TZ 16612-Z hood. Still has the NSN 2510-00-846-1423 assigned and still registered as an active part the Air Force and Army can order still. Best part is the price, $101.57 I wonder if you can get it at the dealership or if it is a special order from Ford?

Mark I bet it would be interesting to place an order and see if it is shipped.

Obsolete
C1TZ16612Z is not listed on the in-house FoMoCo Dealer Parts Locator System that every FoMoCo Dealer uses, and...
It hasn't been listed for decades, because there is no longer an MSRP or dealer net cost listed.
Since the hood is C = Cancelled, Obsolete, Not Serviced, Not Replaced, exactly where will you order it from?
Doncha think if the hood was still available, Green Sales, Carpenter and etc would have it?
They don't have it, because it's o-b-s-o-l-e-t-e
Waltz on down to your local dealer and ask them to run the part number...lotsa luck.
Had my buddy run the same NSN; its on the books; but as Bill mention I'm sure its outdated info.
Prolly some isolated supply depot has a yard full; and doesn't have a clue to what they go on. I can see "Change of Command" inventories still counting old hoods on their documents and wondering how to remove them off the property books! lol
Bill W. thanks for the push to look again. I was overly involved with homework and midterm exam studying for the last few weeks to stop in here and post.
The Air Force has 2 in Dayton Ohio at the Air Force Museum. If you have never been there I really do suggest checking it out. They are spares for any trucks that come in with damage to be restored to be put on dispay. I called a contact I work with for provisioning aircraft parts at Wright Patterson AFB and had her look for them. She is not afraid to peek around to see if they have any parts that are slated for DRMO. The bad thing is I have to find the NSN's for her to look up 1 at a time.
Hey Mark, good going with being back in school...I always believe things happen for a reason...ie your putz boss at Rock Springs. He didn't realize what he had...guys like that never do. Bet you're feelin' pretty good now!

Reason: spelling
I was there in Feb a few years ago. Some nice waves were coming in on the North Shore. The surfers from around the world were camping out and waiting for the big ones to come in. Im not a surfer so the waves coming in at the time looked big enough to me. I talked to a few guys who where there from Austrailia and they werent even bothering with what was coming in.I think they were waiting for bigger waves.I think they said the waves we were seeing were 20ft.
