1964 F-250 ?

On a 1964 F-250 what colors would the engine be. It has a 262 in it. Also did the grill hub caps and wheels come painted and if they did on the inspection plate can it tell you what colors.

F25BG480521
128 B F250 L81 F 23
7500 132 3600 55

Thanks for any help.

Engine Block; Black; Valve covers Ford Red; Air Breather Semi-Gloss Black.
All the interior colors I can't tell ya, but grille I would paint it Wimbledon White; hubcaps & Wheels; It would depend on body color. Example RED, Black , White body; Red wheels; is my choice. HUbcap either white same as grille or Sliver is my two choices.
hope this helps ya think it out!

Any idea what colors the 300 I-6 motors were in these trucks? I'm swapping in an EFI one out of an '89, and am thinking about painting it "period correct" I was just going to go with Old Ford Blue.

Not on the plate. I don't even think they came chrome, but rather aluminum or painted steel. The whites seem to be of the Wimbledon variation, rather than bright white.

Thanks for any help.
F25 = F250 2WD

B = 262 1V I-6.

G = Chicago IL Assembly Plant.

480521 = 1964, assembled December 1963.

128" Wheelbase.

B = Caribbean Turquoise.

F250 2WD, 7500 lbs. GVWR

L81: L = Medium Green Crush Vinyl & Medium Green Check Stripe Woven Plastic / 81 = 81A Standard Cab.

F = Borg Warner T-98 4 Speed Manual Transmission.

23 = In-correct rear axle code for an F250.

7500 lbs. Gross Vehicle Weight Rating.

132 net HP @ 3600 RPM

55 = St. Louis MO Ford District Sales Office, where the original selling dealer ordered the truck from.

Standard Cabs came with painted grilles and hubcaps. Ford did not offer aluminum or chrome hubcaps for anything. F100 Custom Cabs came with stainless hubcaps.

F250's were not available with stainless hubcaps until 1967.

The Standard Cab grilles were painted Corinthian White, the hubcaps were either in the same color white, or were painted argent....both with red FORD letters.

The wheels could be black, or Wimbledon White.

Not to hijack the thread........... are the colors on the 64 engine the same as a 66? And are there differences between the 250 and the 100?

1966: All Ford engines were painted Ford Corporate Blue...including the valve colors.

1960/65: All Ford engines were painted black. The valve covers were painted specific to engine size, as this is how Ford ID'd engine sizes.

If you look at my album: Ford Truck Enthusiasts Forums - Brent64's Album: 1964 F250 you can see my '64 F250, it has a 262 engine, the valve cover is silver(ish).
