does it go on an aftermarket chip, or is it flashed into the pcm?

It is a totally separate add on,,,,, changes the signal from the PCM to the TC ,,makes it faster . Mileage is better , performance is better , less wear in the TC ...Trans will last longer ...

As in springs and spacers to be installed in the main or accumulator valve body, or the electrical type?

It is a separate unit , switch 4 wires leading to the trans , the cure goes in line .It takes about 20 minutes to install ... Name: Cure mounting.jpg

The Cure!

Good stuff. Its a little tricky to install but it you remove the wiring harness pig tail that it is wired into its much easier! The pigtail has another plug that is on top of the transmission and then you can get the foot long connector out on the bench to repin it. But if you leave the pigtail on the truck its not very easy.

But once its on you will enjoy The Cure! No other product out there like it. or that will deliver these results
