I haven't really posted in this forum because I'm asking this question for my friends trucks. With that being said, I have a serious problem and I was wondering if anyone has encountered the same thing. I updated my friends predator today with a new CROM file and installed the 100hp tune. Unfortunately, the truck will not start now. It won't even think about turning over and the predator is saying it can't read the truck. So i call up diablo and talk with a nice guy there mike and he helped me with restoring the original backup in the truck which went in good. The problem is that the truck still won't turn over or even try.
First thing you should do is read any engine codes that may be stored. I don't know if the predator can do that. Will it crank? Do you hear the fuel pump or the injectors buzzing when you first turn the key? You say you were able to restore the original programming so is the programmer now able to see computer?
This is probably too simple, but have you tried disconnecting the batteries, leavign the headlights on to dissipate any charge? Then reconnect and try to start?
It is a little strange that the predator can not read thru the obd port. checked all the fuses? Do all the gauges work on the truck? Does the starter click or does it crank over?
the fact the predator can read anything means the network is down. as I said its from one of the 2 above reasons.
Not to hi-jack this thread and ask a stupid question but is the FICM different from the PCM? Are they one and the same? I know the FICM can be custom programmed but is that different than using a programmer like sct? I ask incase the OP has to take the truck in to the dealer to get it re-flashed or possibly send in the FICM to get it custom programmed.
