Running Again! OR so I thought!

Most of you have seen my problems ive been having this week. Now lets top it off right now. After my CPS was successfully installed and got my running again now i believe i have a clutch problem!!

While im driving down the road around 15-2500 RPS and i step on the fuel pedal my RPMs will go up and ill stay the same speed then in about 2 long seconds ill finally start accelerating.

Does this sound like a clutch to you guys? When I pull out from a dead stop it grabs and gets me going when I should. Could something i replaced be causing it to act funny?

If it is a clutch I cant afford this. Ill need to find the cheapest one possible.

Hate to be the bearer of bad news but it sounds like your clutch is slipping.

the draining shouldnt be if the drain line is attached but the overfilling when adding new filter could be the problem.

How many miles on the truck? Has the clutch been replaced before? Mine started to slip just as you've described around 212,000 miles. Go easy on the skinny pedal and you can limp it along for a while. I wouldn't be afraid to drive it. The slipping will slowly get worse as things wear out more until you finally can't go. It won't be a sudden, the truck won't move anymore.

I drive mine a few hundred miles after it started to slip till the weekend got here and I could get it changed. I could have gone much longer, but didn't want to wait. I wouldn't tow any loads between now and when you replace it.

This past July I replaced the clutch on my f350. I just got some friends, followed the repair books steps and did the job. I think the clutch itself from a local Auto Value was $360.00. I was able to borrow a tranny jack. The job is pretty straight forward. The bottom line is that the best way to know what is going on is to pull the tranny and take a look. I would have probably hooked up with Clay but he was heading off to RRE at the time and I needed the clutch now. Just an encouragement to go for it!

Well i only have 150,000 I bought it with 109,000 so im not sure what it has for a clutch in it. I know 3 years ago i put 100HP to it with an edge evolution and it NEVER felt the same since. (I also learned to drive a stick in this truck)

I have had the same thing happen. I would just drive nice and easy for a bit and see if it comes back around.
