Hello first time on here so hope to get some help.
I have a f-350 pickup with diesel 6.0l engine. The engine hydro locked from fuel. I have it at a ford dealership with a friend working on it on the side. Changed all the injector out with rebuild ones. Truck runs now but have a white fuel smoke out the exhaust all the time. What could be the problem. The ford mechanic has no idea why its still smoking and he works on diesels all the time. Please help
Im sure is not a failed egr cooler. I have pulled the EGR value and checked the intake no sign of coolant there. The smoke will make your eyes tear and smells like raw fuel.
IDS Power Balance, relative compression (and may manual compression ets if necessary) and fuel pressure tests. Infrared temperature gun at each exhaust manifold port and/or exhaust manifolds loosened from cylinder heads with the engine running to see which hole is smoking.
How long was the engine run for after replacement of all eight injectors? If it was overfueling that bad as you described to the point of hydrolocking the engine you will have A LOT of residual raw fuel left in the exhaust to burn off, as well as some base engine damage has likely occured.
The exhaust muffler has been removed the exhaust is dry. It had 4 time the fluid in the oil pan from the fuel. The truck has made one 45 min drive from the dealership to my house, there it sits. I have found a longblock engine for $3900 was thinking of changing the motor out. just hope the part that need to be moved from the old motor to the rebuild one is not going to move my problem as well.
