i have a 87 f150 302 and its a wiring nightmare when i got it and was curious if someone could take a picture of the starter solenoid so i can see what wires go where that would be a big help thanks
thanks kinda hard to see the pic with the coverings over the wires....should of said this sooner but im in the process of converting it to carb so i dont know if that makes a difference...thanks
There are three terminals on the starter relay, a small one at the top and two big ones lower down. You should have one light gauge wire with a plug-on connector on it which plugs on the the top terminal on the relay.
You should also have a medium gauge wire that runs down to the starter (you may have to trace that one right from the starter), it goes on one of the relay large terminals.
All other wires including one from the battery and one from the alternator go on the other big terminal.
There is a wiring diagram here somewhere, posted by subford, showing the starter relay and would probably give wire colors but I can`t find it.
alright thanks im going to look at that in the morning and you know where i can get the pin out diagram or schematic for the big round plug for the body harness or whatever that is on the firewall? thanks
