My truck does not have the valve in the heater hose coming from the engine. I bought a valve and I just need to know. It is the upper hose right?? The one that goes to the Thermostat housing?
My heater valve is on the upper hose, and it works fine.
But my 64 came with a 292 but has been change to a 302, though. So I'm not sure what the other guy has done to it, but every day I'm finding something new...

The upper hose is your feed line and the lower is the return....speaking of I need to add a valve to mine as the PO deleted it.
Yeah, I appreciate that, I found a mechanic who works at O'meara, and he can boil the carb out for a couple days. Did I mention that this truck was last plated in 1997. That tells me there may be serious varnish in the carb. Kind of a miracle that it runs at all. Anyhow, he is gonna rebuild it and have it back to me Friday, so I can get it going over the weekend.
Actually it was Kevin. My cousin actually works at Sill-Terhar, but he is a modern truck Mechanic, and so carburetors are out of his comfort zone so he referred me to Kevin.
oh right on! isnt Kevin that alignment tech that has a fairlane and a fox body mustang? I know a few of those guys over there at O'meara as well as the owner.
