Viton is worth it.
I put new viton o-rings on when I changed my injectors 7k miles ago. I recently had to pull all my injectors as I suspected a leaker. Turns out my injectors were fine, but I never bothered to change my o-rings since I went and popped all the caps off, some of them 2-3 times. I went to check the motor yesterday to see how many were leaking since I had disturbed them a week ago. The motor was bone dry, not a single leaky o-ring. I think I'll stick with viton o-rings, they really do seem to hold up to the heat better.

Thats why they are recommended ... Not only are they impervious to Diesel, they also have a higher heat rating, thus they will remain soft and keep a seal even if disturbed!
