I'm getting ready to do the rear disc install with a 75 F250 w/dana 60 rear. I'm using the Caddy calipers with ebrake. The problem is the oem cable is too long from end to where it entered the backing plate that held it.
The photo below pretty well shows the problem. Although this solution would probably work, I'd like a cleaner look. Is it possible to cut off the existing ****, shorten cable, and weld on a **** fabed from a bolt shaft?
Note: OEM Broncos of the 70's will fit, but then the other end of the cable comes into play, having to fab a mount for a too short cable....
I would probably go to a hardware store that can crimp those flat / rounded ends onto cable and have them crimp one on. It wont be exact, but it will serve the purpose of actuating the brake lever.
