I am currently driving an F150, but looking to upgrade to a 2011 SD in the near future to pull our trailer with a little less effort.
I am definitely going with the PSD but I can't seem to find any major differences between the F250 and the F350 (SRW) in terms of towing capacity or payload.
Can someone please summarize the major differences for me as I seem to be missing something here.
I just dealt with the same issue two weeks ago. Our new travel trailer was too much for the '07 F150 so I began researching the Super Duties. Since there was not any real difference in towing capacities I settled on the F250. Towing is my primary reason for buying a new truck, since I can always hitch up the utility trailer if I need more payload. Also went with the 6.2L gas engine because the deisel doesn't increase towing capacity in the F250. This weekend will be the first tow with the new truck, and I'm looking forward to finding out how much difference there will be.
Thanks for the replies. So, basically if I don't need physical carrying capacity, I might as well save a few bucks and get the F250. Just wanted to make sure I wasn't missing anything obvious!
Still gonna get the PSD for the obvious towing benefits!
right.. in many states the registration limits are 10,000 lbs, or above 10,000.. so the 250 and 350 both can come rated at only 10,000lbs,
even tho the equipment supports more.. the door tag wins for registration purposes..
OK... so when some people on here indicate they are towing 14k or 16k 5ers are they technically overloaded? The specs state the trucks are only rated for 12.5k? Are the older trucks rated higher than the 2011?
Sorry for all the questions, I am a bit of a noob when it comes to towing and loading.
