wiring harness

Hi guys ,
Now that summer is over and things should start calming down a bit I am itching to get the ol 55 a new wiring harness . I know that this has been discussed before but what company have you bought yours from and are you happy with this kit ? I am running a 302 with the later style distributor ( non points type) and would like the complete kit for power windows ,locks ,a/c etc . any suggestions ? Oh yeah it does have a GM tilt column . Thanks for the info ...

I bought the EzWire 21 circuit kit, and think it was great.. easy to read, and well organized.

one feature it doesn't have is the ability to change selected circuits from all time power to switched power, all by moving the fuse over a bit. (my power window circuit is full time power, which drained the battery cause of the lighted switches, which are near impossible to change)..

I would use the new mini fusebox now tho.. saves space.

I have been checking out EZ wiring, for the same set up as you. Seems to be reasonably priced and has eveything needed.

I have used Ron Francis and Painless. Both were well made...

Sam,

could you do a little circuit re-arranging and move the connection to a switched buss ?? have to cut and resolder, but that doesn't seem so bad... does the fuse block have some extra 'switched' fuses spots ??

no extra spaces that I noticed.. they don't tell you about what is where really..

I ended up cutting the harness lead for the power windows, and connecting it to the ignition switch run lead..

dropping the dash extension panel to get to the switch releases (on the passenger side) was just too much work.

on the francis or painless harness, just move the fuse over. one slot (3 slots for 2 lug fuse)..

np.. think it all the way thru.. I have the swing down panel to hold the fuse box, so I can look at it without crawling under the dash..(not a kid anymore) between the steering /brake booster bracket and the parking brake. I welded an angle iron to the firewall with a bolt thru to take a nut to hold the swing down up.. hinged at the edge of the dash.

then the extension got in the way, with the a/c vents and all.. so I can't swing it down.. grrrrrr..
