I've got all the lines cut, radiator removed etc. Transmission still mated to engine. Just parting this out. Sooo, all I see is one bolt on each engine perch and one long thin bolt through crossmember. Is that all I have to remove before engine and trans combo will lift out?
theres the 6 or so bolts the hold the block to the traanny, also the 4 nuts the hold the torque converter to the flexplate, there a pain to get at through the inspection plate. Also when i pulled my 400 i took the bolts the hold the tranny to its crossmember to allow the tranny to move up and down with the engine. And dont forget the starter bolts, i took my starter out but thread the bolts back in so i didnt lose them and later we couldnt figure out why the engine wasn't coming out and it was because of those bolts

Good info, but he said he was not taking the tranny and engine apart. He's pulling them both together.
Thanks, everyone. I ended up unbolting the exhaust manifolds and removing and sliding the transmission crossmember. I got it (engine and trans together) out, finally. Now just need to get rid of it, remove the other parts I need for the '66 and get it to the scrap yard.
