Due to the angle of the spark plugs in the Gt-40p heads, there are some header issues to keep in mind. Regular spark plugs won't work but there are shorter plugs available that I have heard will work with regular headers. I've also been told of people putting a ding in their headers to clear the plugs. There are companies that make headers especially for this head but they are expensive. Most people I've heard use the manifolds from an Explorer to get around the problem.
Same answer here. Ding some of the primaries and use the shorter plugs from a '97 Mercury Mountaineer or '97 Ford Explorer. I think that they are motorcraft number AWSF32-C. They are shorter plugs. You should also use 90 degree angle plug wires. You can not use the Mountaineer or Explorer wires, they use coil packs.
