99 E-150 4.2 No start need help!
Took it to NTB, they said PCV elbow, I replaced myself, no change.
Took it to a private mechanic and they said the CATS were bad, I had monroe do it, they said they were fine and did not need changed but did it anyhow, they tested compression and said it was fine.
New Aft O2 Sensors.
Was driving it for a week, painfully enough with the foot to the floor it'd go 60 tops and getting like 3mpg.
Found left intake manifold runner control lever missing, replaced, no change.
The odd part is at idle in or out of gear it ran like it was brand new, perfect idle speed and no shakes or anything.
Then I drove to the store and it stalled as I parked, I went in then came out and it would not start up.
Tried jumpping, no luck.
New 650A battery and clamps, no luck.
Towed to Valley Ford, took 2 days to tell me they suspect coil+plugs+wires, towed it home and replaced them myself, no start.
Put in a new EGR, PCM, no start..
Vaccum hoses were replaced like 3 years ago, also the crank pulley.
The van seems to try to start without giving it gas but it studders and does not start, then if you hold the gas to the floor it sounds like it's backfiring.
Take the plugs out they are all filled with gas, though running the plugs out and grounded they all produce a white hot spark.
Almost like the timing is off somehow.
I have a code scanner Actron 9575 which shows the TPS is working, as are the temp sensors, I can see the rpms go up when I crank it showing live data.
No codes, no mil light, only one o2 sensor shows voltage O2S11V .5 to .10 the ign shows 10^ when cranking
It seems like there is a timing issue, I inspected the crank sensor and it looks normal, I'd think if the crank sensor was out I'd see no rpm from the scan tool when cranking.
Ideas+questions?
Thanks in advance!
Ken
Found vibration dampner was cracked in two where the crank pulley goes into the front cover+seal.
This was replaced by me 5years ago, same thing happend except the crank bolt broke off in the crankshaft and the pulley was laying in the crossmember. This time it hung on enough to fool Ford dealer, NTB, Monroe, and me.
I wonder if anyone else has this issue.
