Vacuum thing

Can anyone tell me what this thing is and does? Do i need it ?
Its a 77 f150 400/C6. I dont know haw to post a pic in the message so its in my galery.

Vacuum thing

Its on the passenger side. As i said before there is a pic in my gallery. It has three vac lines that come in one side and three holes on the other but only two lines.

I believe what you are looking at is a vacuum amplifier that is used to up the vacuum to run the EGR valve. Am I right guys?

I can't tell you what it is but I would like to know too. If I get rid of the EGR will I be able to chunk that thing too.

Vacuum thing

The vacuum amplifier is used in conjunction with the vacuum reservoir (coffee can) to increase the venturi signal to the EGR valve. It's supposed to have one port open for atmospheric vent. If you aren't running EGR then it's not necessary.
