You will need to read the codes to really do much with it, autozone will do that free.
Is it like a skip or a surge when you sit in drive with you foot on the brake?
If it feels like the engine is reving up/surging or the tach shows it is than you need to check the vacuum lines. The intake has a big elbow that is prone to rotting out.
If its just more of a skip ( which is more likly) than odds are its a bad coil ( the COP for that cylinder) and the trouble code will tell you which one.
Ok, First thing to check is the vacuum lines around the throttle body for any rotting, leaks or loose parts.
Check the air filter housing too. Make sure the two halves are put togather right and the clamp is on.
If thats all looks good then get us the codes that are setting the CEL ( check engine light ) and we can go from there.
Cracked vacuum line.Dealer charged $195.00.Did I get screwed?
No, not if it was something that was not obvious. We all have to understand that there are huge exspenses involved in operating a business as large as a dealership. If they don't charge for every basic diagnosis and part they will not be in business for very long.
Glad you got it fixed.
