DOH, yes that is what I was trying to get across. The insurance guy was able to search Salvage yards. He found everything from blocks to complete turn key engines. I picked mine up for 2400 complete.
Im sorry to hear this Danny. Im kinda in a similar situation, Im forced to upgrade my injectors, put head studs in, and put my H2E in, because i have 4 none firing injectors on startup.

JB weld did cross my mind LMAO... but I was told from the machine shop that the knocking I was hearing was because an injector or two was possibly misfiring, and detonating out of time, and over a few months time it cause excessive wear on the crank bearings which in turn eventually caused the crank to pull too hard on the cap and CRACK. But other than the water in oil, there was no indication of a crack. I was really hoping that it was a bad timing cover or even oil cooler, but when I dod something, I do it all the way- I guess that's the Marine in me
Dan, I'd love to have a girdle just to have on, but I don't think it woulda made a difference in this instance, it probab;y woulda went eventualy anyways. Even if a girdle would prevent this, hell I can't afford one anyways....
