yoke swap

Fellas,
swapped out my yoke today and resealed. I had been nervous to do this because of people telling me that i will mess up the differential. Well i went to ford and asked how exactly the process would work if i took it to them. They do the same thing that i was thinking and have heard from a select few. Mark it with a paint pen and count the threads. I about fell over when the ford tech told me this and he said well yeah this is the best way to do it for the price would be triple going any other way. It worked perfect and i am just letting my transfer case yoke housing set up the silicone then i will take it out for a test drive. Overall, it went well, hardest part was getting the old diff seal off, it was pretty nasty.

never, i just want people to know that if they take their truck to ford, they will get the same service from a certified technician from ford motor company. It is insane how simple it is. it really is.

Yes, it is simple, however there is a level of risk involved, especially if you pull heavy weight.

But if you pull heavy weight, thats something that should be checked frequently anyways ...

indeed theres risk in anything. like for my gears, i can do it myself but i know i wont do it as well as a shop would with real tools for gears like a mic for backlash lol. id just throw em in there and make it work. but i want them to last as the life of the truck, so its worth the $ for me to have it done, and done right!
