Guys, after my truck idles for 10 minutes I am getting a low engine very noticable ticking sound that speeds up as I raise the RPMs...I just got it back from having the full service at Ford (6300 miles) Im a little worried...anyone else noticed this? I didnt notice prior to service.
It just started after 6k miles...I would have noticed prior to 6k...Even local friend/shop owner noticed it today...sould like a hot pipe tinging or popping, but it speeds up with RPMs

That is different then an engine ticking sound. Not sure what that sound would be from.
You are explaining the exact thing I posted somewhere around here last week or so.
No ticking. Had an oil change, now I have ticking.
You are correct, the ticking becomes faster with more RPMs.
I hear mine driving next to a fence or a row of trees with the windows down.
Or after driving awhile, then I hear it at idle or high idle (faster).
I'm told it's normal and it will go away with age on the oil.
Change the oil and it will come back (so I'm told).
I'm a little dubious of that advice. The sound you are describing is not on my truck and I have changed the oil. I put in Rotella T6 5W40. Could it be oil related?
I personally have no idea.
The dealer added 15w-40 in my engine.
I couldn't get the noise to occur today as I was leaving after the flash.
Of course it wouldn't occur when I need it to.
Too many traffic lights getting to the dealer and I think I had to stop at most of them.
Cooled down too much I guess.
They had a 6.0 f-350, 6.0 and 6.4 ambulance in the bays running so they wouldn't have heard mine anyways.
When I have some time, I'm going to get the thing hot and stop by and I'm sure it will do it with high idle.
The best I can figure out is it's coming from under the engine compartment on the driver side. I hear it best behind the front left wheel. I can't hear it at all if I open the hood and stand over the engine; the clutch fan makes too much noise.
Dealer used bulk motercraft oil...it really sounds like something has broken..similar to a lifter on an old car that come loose...its coming from driver side behind ft tire
Someone "in the know" posted that the new diesels come with an additive in them to quiet this noise down, it drains out with the oil at the first change. It sounds like something a used car dealer might do.
For reference you can go to the 6.4 forum and search for "ticking sound". See if you find answers or if your mind will be put to ease.
The 6.7 seems like it will behave in similar ways. My 6.4 had the ticking sound 1 time after an oil change, never appeared again. My 6.7 has not made the "tick" but I have only had 1 oil change.
For peace of mind, make sure your dealer used the correct oil. You state "bulk Motorcraft" but I'm pretty sure the diesel oil is different than they use for the gassers and passenger cars.
Well I don't know if this is what you are experiencing as I have never heard this first hand, but one of the things the new flash is supposed to take care of is a knocking sound made by the high pressure fuel pump. The service bulletin as I recall stated the noise was most noticeable at or near idle.
For a better understanding of what we 6.4 owners encountered with the newer quiet motors:

6.4L DIESEL ENGINE TICKING / TAPPING NOISE
Publication Date: September 9, 2008
FORD:
2008 F-Super Duty
ISSUE:
Some 2008 F-Super Duty 250-550 vehicles equipped with a 6.4L diesel engines may exhibit a random engine ticking / tapping noise that is most noticeable when engine coolant temperature is 185 degrees F (85 degrees C) or higher and from base idle to approximately 1500 RPM. Some customers may complain that this noise becomes more evident after 3000-5000 miles have accumulated on the vehicle or after an engine oil change.
ACTION:
Follow the Service Information.
SERVICE INFORMATION
The ticking / tapping noise is most noticeable at the rear of the driver's side front wheel well. 6.4L Powerstroke Diesel engines exhibit this normal audible condition (some engines will exhibit greater audible noise due to engine build variations). 6.4L Powerstroke Diesel engines are manufactured to tight tolerances in order to meet strict durability and reliability standards.
This noise is caused by the relationship between engine block, crankshaft journals, bearing inserts and oil viscosity / film. This relationship allows a pulsation that resonates through the cylinder block and is heard as a metallic ticking noise. This condition is present on all diesel engines.
Technological improvements and overall noise reduction in today's diesel engines make this issue seem new when in fact it was masked by other noises on previous engines. Other engine manufacturers report similar conditions in their diesel engines. Vehicle testing and engine tear down analysis have confirmed this condition will not effect reliability or long term durability of this engine.
Dealers should not attempt to perform vehicle to vehicle noise comparisons. This may lead to incorrect conclusions and ineffective repairs.
NOTE: DO NOT ATTEMPT REPAIRS FOR THIS NORMAL NOISE CONDITION. REPLACING THE ENGINE OR INTERNAL COMPONENTS WILL NOT REDUCE OR ELIMINATE THE TICKING / TAPPING NOISE. PLEASE PROVIDE THIS BULLETIN TO CUSTOMERS THAT INQUIRE ABOUT THIS CONDITION.

Sorry if I offended, I edited it to say "might do".
I should have said something a less than scrupulous seller of a used vehicle might do
