That actually depends on what engine it's behind - for instance 302W and 351W and I believe 300I6 engines can all use the same transmission, then the 460 uses a different case for its E4OD, and then the diesel have still another case. As for years, I'd say '89-'93 as in '94 the solenoid pack was changed and its connector shape was altered to reflect that so a harness from one of those trucks will simply not plug into your '90 transmission.
