Hey all
I was thinking of throwing a CB in my 2000 Superduty and was just wondering what would work out best...possibly that will fit into that cubbyhole under the radio ? What radio/antenna combos are you guys with CB's running ? How about a couple pics of locations ?
i am running a corbra 29ltd with wx and night watch that is mounted where the trash hook is.and i am running duel wilson 4ft antenna's on the mirrors and the combo works great at least for me it does,i get great reception in and out.
I'll have to take pic of mine. I have mine mounted on the floor on the hump. I rather mine to be on the roof but this truck has a moon roof so I had to relocate have a galaxy 44 and really like it. Other than my coil ant. I like fire stix. They are easier to tune. What ever you run you don't want anything you have to cut to tune
. 18 feet of coax is easier to tune also. I don't know why that I. Run it out don't ball the excess up.
We have a local shop here that sells a drive shaft hump mount. It has a built in external speaker and mounts really easily and hides your wires. I'm running a Cobra 148F GTX that has been modulated, clipped and pilled. Dead key 1/4 and swing 50 with talk back and Cobra power/echo mic. Mine tuned with 21 feet of coax and I run dual terminator coil over antennae mounted to extensions under my shell. Yeah, it's a Redneck thing.....
grumpy moose, like those lights on the service body! Do yopu have any more pics? And thanks for the idea, when i get my CB ill prob do a install like that.

Thanks. Yes, I have a ton more pictures of my various mods this year. I'll try to post some soon.
Yep. It is a double din kit I got off of ebay for about $15. The CB has the speaker and mic connector on the front so that all worked out. It is just a tiny bit wider then a stock stereo so I have to shave the kit a little to get it to work.
Then had to shave the top and bottom flanges inside the dash opening. But once done, worked out pretty good.
